1. What are the benefits of GroundFlights over commercial aviation?
To begin, commercial airline service throughout the state of Florida is extremely limited, very costly, and immensely time consuming. Just add up all of the time spent commuting to the airport, parking, standing in long security lines, waiting for your flight (IF there aren’t any delays), flying the route and THEN commuting to your destination from the airport. A 40 minute flight can take up to 5 hours door to door. Oh, let’s not forget the cramped middle seat and lost baggage.
2. How does GroundFlights compare to Greyhound or other bus lines?
Greyhounds service is available through their schedules NOT yours. Bus lines are usually cramped and don’t offer Internet connectivity, snacks, or an area to work productively.
3. Why not take the train?
Have you looked at the train schedules from Orlando to the other major cities throughout Florida? Limited access, pricey tickets, and multiple connections are just a few obstacles. Direct train service is nearly extinct and most trips take many hours to complete.
4. Can’t we just take a limo?
Of course you can. However, GroundFlights offers TONS more at a fraction of the cost. Even our waiting time is factored into your price AND it’s still a lot cheaper than a limo service. Limos are great for proms and weddings. YOU are not traveling for a prom or wedding. You and your clients are traveling to be comfortable, productive, profitable, and at a minimal cost.
5. What if we just took a private plane?
This is an option for some but comes with a much higher cost and a potential for visibility and attention that may not want (especially in light of the corporate governance scrutiny of late). It also makes less sense for short-haul travel than a long-haul trip.
It might be faster in some cases, but throw in a notorious Florida thunderstorm and now how productive are you wasting valuable time sitting on the taxiway waiting for the weather to pass?
Back to the cost implications, a King Air 200 fits 6 people and costs roughly $2000 an hour to rent. And that clock starts ticking as soon as the engine starts…not when you takeoff. Extra surcharges such as fuel, pilots, and service fees can boost that price quickly. Any Wi-Fi on that plane? Snacks? 32” plasma TV…2 of them at that? Can you lie flat out? Can you have video conferencing at 15,000 feet in the air? Are we painting a picture here?
